Description

This tour features the highlights of the splendid Uffizi Museum, the primary art museum of Florence, where your expert guide will give you a thorough introduction to the Renaissance period via the great works of art on display there. The Museum has an extraordinary collection of paintings starting from 1200. This tour concentrates on the most famous masterpieces by artists such as Giotto, Botticelli, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Tiziano, and Caravaggio, to name just a few.

Throughout the tour of the Uffizi you will spend time viewing and discussing the works that gave rise to the Florentine Renaissance to give you a new understanding of this incredibly important period of art history.

The Uffizi museum was originally built by the Medici to house their administrative offices that governed the city, hence the name Uffizi, Italian for offices. While visiting the top floors of the museum, where the grand duke's offices were located, you will discuss the important Medici family. The tour concludes inside the Gallery.

We received an excellent overview of the progression of art through the centuries, and we were pleased that she took the time to really study a few specific paintings with us (approx. 18 paintings - I even took notes during the tour). Your ticket (voucher) will be delivered online. Paper tickets are not required. Your voucher is the proof of booking and settlement. Terms and Conditions and Cancellation Policy

Booking cancellations are VALID only when made through us by email at customer@conciergerie.com or by fax at +33 1 79752110. You can change your reservation date at no charge if you notify us at least fifteen (15) days before service. If you cancel your reservation and you notify us at least nince (9) days before service, there is a 20% cancellation fee. Between 4 and 8 days before service, 60% cancellation fee. After this time no refunds can be made. Cancellation fees will not be waived for any reason, however, they may be covered by travel insurance. We *highly* recommend that you have insurance with *adequate* coverage, including Force Majeure.
