"Excellent tour! Our driver was prompt on picking us up at our hotel & very knowledgeable about the area & events, she was a delight. I was hesitant about booking a tour directly from Europe instead of the States but everything went well & I would do it again." Anonymous, United States, April 2013

"The small size of the group made for a very pleasant experience. Annalise was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the information to be provided and tourism generally. This made for an engaged tour guide which was very nice. The places visited were sufficient for what we wished to experience in our short time in Normandy. As we only could do a day trip from Paris, we would not have been able to see what we did without a private car. We skipped the tour lunch and packed some baguette and cheese with us. This allowed us some time to be closer to the landing beaches rather than sitting in a restaurant. Speaking to the other tour members the lunch wasn’t anything to write home about so would recommend what we did to have that extra time for reflection. Also, as we were not staying at a hotel (apartment) the pickup point was not the easiest to find so were running around a bit very very early in the morning. Luckily all went well as the tour minivan to pick us up was late anyway! Would definitely recommend this tour for the content (primarily) but also the way it is was delivered." "Our guide was wonderful! It was so great! I got to sign the book at the American Cemetary for my Dad who was never able to go back--he landed on Omaha Beach. They took me to a private room to look through the book and sign it. When I left, a very kind Frenchman bowed to me and presented me with the American and French flags. I never expected such kindness. It was the highlight of our trip to Europe. I can't express how much this tour meant to me and my husband!" Vickie C, United States, May 2012

"Lionel was a wonderful tour guide. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and surprised us with the many languages he spoke. He shared many interesting facts about things we saw along the roadside prior to our arrival in Normandy. We never felt rushed when we visited the different D-Day sights, which was very nice. I highly recommend La Conciergerie for a tour of the Normandy Area." Anonymous, United States, May 2012

"I was picked up right on time. Our guide Lionel made the ride out to Normandy a pleasant one. Not too much information but just enough plus he answered all our questions. He also then let us enjoy seeing the French countryside. Lionel went with us to the battlefield sites and cemetery and was well versed in the events. He stayed with us for a breakfast stop and a nice lunch in a local restaurant. We had enjoyable chats between ourselves and him. The people on the trip were very pleasant and good company which may be common because of the nature of where and why we were going to Normandy. I thought Lionel was a good guide. He was conscientious about getting us to and prioviding us with suficient background information on the sites. The trip was worthwhile and very enjoyable." John D, United States, April 2012

"In a past visit, we only saw the beaches and the museums. This tour took us up on the bluffs too, where we could walk thru the German bunkers, some still with guns. The lookout bunkers were amazing, with the view of the beaches below. The field of craters where the bombs hit was shocking. Our guide Pascal began the commentary upon leaving Paris, so by the time we reached Normandy we were more prepared. The museum in Caen was disappointing: very few artifacts and lots of reading, plus the Normandy portion was not open (Dec. 2011) so it was mostly build-up to World War II in general and the world since 1945. We enjoyed the 20 minute film, but over 2 hours in the museum was way too much; we would have preferred seeing another landing beach. Lunch in Arromanches was good."
